Matt Dudman has been touring and recording for over a quarter century. An exceptionally enthusiastic musician, he’s been a member of the award-winning MacRae Brothers and Pleasant Valley Boys, and he’s also become a first-call ‘hired gun’ for the west coast’s top acoustic music groups on mandolin, guitar and string bass. Matt has been teaching music for several years now, with resounding success.
Matt is accepting mandolin, guitar, vocal and bass students for individual, group and band lessons, all ages, all levels. Students get intensive personal help with development of technique and understanding the mechanics of rhythm and melody as they relate to lead and back-up playing. For beginners Matt patiently starts with fundamentals, then helps move the student into songs, increasing complexity as the student moves forward. Each lesson introduces a new concept and builds on previous ones.
Matt’s philosophy of teaching is to guide the student to discovering the joy of music. Learning is determined by the student’s own goals, interests, and pace, tailoring instruction to the individual student’s needs.
